How to Rig a Fishing Pole for Trout ~ To Fishing With Me

Whether you're an experienced angler or just starting out, knowing how to rig your fishing pole properly for trout will help you be successful at catching them. Trout are aggressive predators but can easily be spooked if you're using the wrong type of equipment to fish for them. Using the correct bait is also key to be a successful trout angler. One of the most common prey of trout is the worm, so nightcrawlers are a good bait to start out with.

Instructions

Spool your 4-lb. fishing line on your spinning reel if was not pre-spooled off the store shelf.

Thread your fishing line through all the eyelets of your fishing pole up to the tip. Continue to pull line off the reel until you have about 5 feet of line hanging from the last eyelet at the tip of your pole.

Cut 3 feet of line off your main line, this will be your leader. Tie your single or treble fishing hook to one end of your leader line.

Thread your sliding barrel weight onto your main line. Grab your two-way swivel and tie your main line to one end of it.

Take your leader line and tie the loose end without the hook to the second eyelet of your two-way swivel. Thread your nightcrawler worm on your fishing hook. Make sure all parts of the hook are covered by the nightcrawler.
